Car Control for Young Drivers (Ages 16+)
Forming the proper habits at a young age is crucial. Today’s driver training does not prepare our young drivers for the challenging road conditions that that will face in the real world. Built from the fundamentals offered in our Advanced Car Control course, this package is tailored to offer new and/or young drivers the skills necessary for proper car control and recovery maneuvers.
The goal of this course is to give your new driver the techniques they need to master the constantly changing road conditions we face in Canada. This course offers 1 to 2 hours of in car training, customized to the skill set of your driver. Drivers are offered a phone consultation prior to their training so that we can tailor the training to the skill set of the driver. All courses start with the fundamentals such as proper seating position and placement of hands on the steering wheel. Students will learn how to control the brake and throttle properly and smoothly on a designated closed course, before proceeding onto our dirt track venue which offers real world simulated corners. Our aim is to form the correct habits and techniques early on in drivers.
When and Where?
Drivers start in a large closed course area, free of any simulated obstacles, here they will familiarize themselves with the vehicle’s controls. Once the instructor is confident in the students progression with the vehicle controls, students will transition to our dirt track venue, where they will be the only car on course. Here they will start to navigate through real world simulated corners and obstacles. See our schedule section for the next available course.
